Hannah Becker

Hello, my name is Hannah Becker! I am currently at senior at South Lyon East High School and am 18 years old. This upcoming fall I am attending Grand Valley State University to study health sciences. I plan to start off in the health sciences department to get a better understanding of what I am most interested in. Right now I am leaning toward nursing since it doesn't require a lot of extra schooling and it is in a hospital setting. I became interested in the medical field through family members who have professions in the medical field and I have always had an interest in the hospital setting.

Outside of school I spend a lot of my time playing different sports. I kicked for my high school football team sophomore and junior year.  I also, play club soccer and tennis. I have a scholarship at Grand Valley State University to play soccer. I have played soccer all of my life which has given me a lot of leadership and teamwork experience. As for being the only girl on an all guys high school football team, I learned how to overcome sexism and stand up for myself in a professional manner.

I spend most of my free time babysitting and relaxing, given that I don't usually get a lot of it. I like to hang out with friends and family and spend time outside. I love doing activities like snowboarding, hiking, fishing, working out, ect. I would describe myself as a hands on type of person that loves to help and take care of people. I am kind and very helpful, especially when it comes to stressful situations. This may be very useful in the career I have chosen.
